Known for
The former military garrison town now being transformed into Whitehill & Bordon eco-town, Hogmoor Inclosure forest, the Deadwater Valley nature reserve, and a Hampshire town undergoing remarkable reinvention
A little history
Bordon was a major British Army garrison since 1903. When the military left in 2015, the town began one of England's most ambitious eco-town regeneration projects — Whitehill & Bordon — transforming barracks into homes, businesses and green spaces while preserving the surrounding forest.
Hogmoor Inclosure is a beautiful forest park — formerly restricted military land, now open to all. The Deadwater Valley for wildlife walks. The town is genuinely transforming — an interesting place to watch regeneration in action.
