A little history
Holt was almost entirely rebuilt after a catastrophic fire in 1708, giving the town a remarkably consistent Georgian character. The North Norfolk Railway — the Poppy Line — runs between Holt and Sheringham. Gresham's School, founded in 1555, has educated W.H. Auden, Benjamin Britten and James Dyson.
