A little history
Huddersfield's railway station — built in 1847 in a magnificent Greek Revival style — is flanked by the finest Victorian commercial architecture in England. Harold Wilson, who served as Prime Minister twice (1964-70 and 1974-76), was born in Huddersfield in 1916. The town is the heartland of Rugby League.
