A little history
Leamington Spa grew rapidly after 1810 as a fashionable spa town — the Royal Pump Rooms were built in 1814. Queen Victoria visited in 1838, granting the 'Royal' prefix. The town has an extraordinary concentration of Regency and Victorian architecture. The esports industry — Jagex, Rebellion and others — has established the town as 'Silicon Spa'.
Jephson Gardens are magnificent — genuinely among England's finest Victorian public parks. The Pump Rooms for the spa heritage. The Parade for excellent independent food. The Morton Street area for indie coffee and food.
