Explore Nairn
Known for
The beach (one of Scotland's finest, with the warmest sea temperature on the east coast), the golf (two outstanding links courses), Charlie Chaplin's holiday connection, and a Highland seaside resort with a charming character
A little history
Nairn was a favourite holiday destination of Charlie Chaplin — he brought his family here for summer holidays in the 1950s-60s. The beach is genuinely exceptional — wide, sandy and backed by dunes. The town has two excellent links golf courses. The Highland coast location gives it remarkably warm sea temperatures for Scotland.
The beach is genuinely outstanding — one of Scotland's best east coast beaches. The golf at Nairn or Nairn Dunbar is excellent. The town centre for independent shopping. The Chaplin connection is celebrated locally.
