Rawtenstall is the northern terminus of the East Lancashire Railway steam line. Fitzpatrick's Herbal Health Bar — established in 1890 and selling sarsaparilla, dandelion and burdock — is the last surviving Temperance Bar in England. The Rossendale Valley is beautiful walking country.
