A little history
The Battle of Saintfield on 9 June 1798 was the most significant United Irishmen victory in Ulster. Rowallane Garden — created by Hugh Armytage Moore from the 1860s — is one of the National Trust's finest Irish gardens, with extraordinary spring bulbs and rhododendrons.
Rowallane Garden (NT) is genuinely outstanding — the spring display is extraordinary. The battle site for the 1798 heritage. The village centre for local community character.
