A little history
Barbara Hepworth — one of the 20th century's greatest sculptors — was born in Wakefield in 1903. The Hepworth Wakefield gallery, opened 2011, celebrates her life and work. The Yorkshire Sculpture Park at Bretton Hall is one of the world's greatest open-air sculpture collections. The Bridge Chapel of St Mary is one of only four surviving chantry chapels on bridges in England.
