Walsall was the leather goods and saddlery capital of England — supplying saddlery to the British cavalry, bridles to the Empire. The Walsall Leather Museum tells this story brilliantly. The New Art Gallery Walsall, opened 2000, holds the Garman Ryan Collection donated by Kathleen Garman (Jacob Epstein's partner) — including works by Epstein, Picasso and Van Gogh.
