A little history
Washington Old Hall — the ancestral home of George Washington's family — was occupied by Washington's ancestors from 1183 to 1613. The Hall, now a National Trust property, has direct links to the family of America's first President. The town was designated a new town in 1964.
Washington Old Hall (NT) is genuinely fascinating — the American connections are well told. The WWT Washington Wetland Centre for birdwatching and wildlife. The Art Centre for local culture.
