Known for
Banksy's Dismaland (held here in 2015 — a temporary bemusement park), the Grand Pier, the Weston donkeys, Tropicana (the restored outdoor pool and events venue), and a Somerset seaside resort of traditional character and contemporary art fame
A little history
Weston-super-Mare is a traditional British seaside resort. Banksy's Dismaland — a dystopian 'bemusement park' held in the Tropicana in 2015 — became one of the most talked-about art events of the decade. The Grand Pier (rebuilt after fire in 2008) is outstanding. The donkeys on the beach have been a tradition for generations.
The Grand Pier is excellent. Banksy's local street art is still visible around the town. The Tropicana for events. The beach donkeys for the traditional seaside experience.
