Wakefield’s Ridings Centre turns on the future of shopping for 77 stores
July 1, 2021A multi-award-winning innovative new App to help local businesses compete against multinationals by attracting more customers is now available to all British high street businesses totally free of charge.
The App, called ‘Roam Local’, is supporting the #Shoplocal focus and will allow businesses to make themselves more widely known on a nation-wide directory so they can attract both visitors and local customers with their own customised offers.
Andrew Bartlett, Founder and Managing Director of Roam Local, explains: “Multinationals can afford to spend £thousands on their websites and apps, which small companies can’t , so I developed this free App to help support local businesses compete against the giants and bounce back from lockdown, which has already proven a success by businesses which have started using it.
Mr Bartlett added: “Our App is not only designed to attract new customers, but to build loyalty and repeat business, providing a dramatic increase of profits.
“A good example is Babul’s, an exciting fusion Indian restaurant in Barnard Castle, that specialises in curry, coffee and cocktails who signed up over 300 followers and boosted footfall by 30% above pre-COVID levels in less than four weeks – and all that was achieved just by using the tools available on the free version of the App!”
As Zak Ahmed, owner of Babul’s Indian Restaurant, explains: “We joined Roam Local in October 2020 during the Covid-19 pandemic with, to be honest, little idea if it could save us… However, by using Roam we were able to engage with new and existing customers, providing them with our menus and all kinds of loyalty rewards, news, offers and any other services.
“We were astonished at the results…. we increased our footfall by 30% in only four weeks, during a pandemic – compared to October 2019 across both dine in and takeaways. Roam certainly works, and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.”
